FINANCE OFFICER / MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (PART-TIME)

Educate Together is the representative body for **Apply on the

Educate Together now invites applications from suitably qualified
applicants for the position of Finance Officer / Management Accountant
(part-time). This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the
necessary knowledge and skills to take ownership of this new role and
develop effective and efficient financial management systems for the
charity.

Days and times can be agreed to suit the successful candidate, with
some flexibility within reasonable parameters.

THE ROLE

The Finance Officer will work with the leadership and administration
teams and the finance sub-committee of the Board of Directors in the
management of financial systems and processes and the execution of
financial duties.

The Finance Officer will work closely with the Bookkeeper (part-time)
and report to the Head of Services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Prepare and present regular management accounts for the CEO and
finance sub-committee.
* Develop budgets, forecasts, cashflow projections and business
models as required.
* Work with the CEO and leadership team to regularly review and
improve internal controls, policies and procedures.
* Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with all statutory
financial obligations and the Charities Governance Code.
* Check payroll and other calculations.
* Review and authorise payments in accordance with agreed policies
and procedures.
* Manage the annual audit process in accordance with FRS **Apply on

* Prepare and present financial reports for the CEO, grant managers,
finance sub-committee and funders.
* Liaise closely with grant managers to maintain an awareness of
programmes and projects and provide suitable financial supports and
information.
* Assist in the costing and submission of funding applications to
statutory and other funders.
* Work with the leadership and administration teams to identify and
deliver improvements in financial and accounting systems, processes
and reporting.
* Analyse the company?s financial position and performance and
advise on business decisions, strategy and planning.
* Make recommendations which will drive efficiencies and deliver
savings for Educate Together.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AREAS OF WORK

* The Finance Officer will participate fully in the work of Educate
Together?s small national office team, and flexibility will be
required.
* Part of everyone?s role is to provide cover for colleagues when
required. In this context the Finance Officer may be asked to
undertake bookkeeping, governance and/or administration duties.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* Relevant accounting qualification (CIMA or ACCA, ICAI)
* Minimum five years relevant financial management experience
* Knowledge and understanding of charity sector accounting and grant
reporting.
* Strong analytical and numerical abilities and keen attention to
detail.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Capacity to produce and present clear and accurate reports in a
timely fashion.
* Strong ICT skills. (currently using Accounts IQ, Thesaurus, Excel,
Salesforce)
* Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Capacity to solve problems creatively.
* Positive work attitude.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

* Experience in a similar role in the charity sector in Ireland.
* Direct experience of Charities SORP FRS **Apply on the website**.
* Experience in implementing new accounting and management
information systems.
* Track record of improving accounting policies and processes in an
organisation.
* Project management skills and experience of managing projects to
completion.
* Commitment to equality-based education

TERMS

* The post is initially offered on a fixed term basis for **Apply on
the website** months with a six-month probationary period. It is hoped
that this new role will develop into a permanent position, subject to
funding.
* This position is salaried in accordance with Educate Together?s
Specialist Officer scale. Starting salary is between SO3 ?**Apply on

website**,**Apply on the website** (pro-rata 3 days: between

qualifications.
* The successful applicant will be expected to work between the
national office of Educate Together and their home over a 3-day week

national office of Educate Together is currently based in Dublin city
centre. Currently, due to Covid restrictions all staff are working
from home.
* Annual leave is **Apply on the website** days per annum (pro-rata
